Turkish occupation commits a number of crimes in occupied Afrin

The mercenaries of the Turkish occupation continue to commit crimes against the remaining people of Afrin. Within five days, the Turkish intelligence and its mercenaries kidnapped 5 citizens, including an imam, and cut down more than 700 perennial olive trees for firewood and trade.

Four years of occupation of Afrin canton, which carried with it the most heinous crimes against humanity, crimes without accountability or supervision, crimes that the occupation and its mercenaries saw as a bridge to implement their occupation plans and change the demographics of the canton.

 According to sources from Afrin canton, the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries kidnapped 5 citizens and cut down more than 700 perennial olive trees.

 According to a source, the Turkish intelligence and its mercenaries have kidnapped the imam of the mosque in the center of Afrin, Youssef Abdul Aziz Yaqoub, 67 years old, from the village of Semalka, in the Mabata district of the occupied Afrin district, after his house in the Teachers Association on Al-Filat Street was sbesieged.  He was thoroughly searched, then they took the imam to the notorious al-Ra’i prison, without knowing his fate.

 In the context, according to a source from Afrin canton, on February 23, Turkish intelligence kidnapped two citizens from their house in the Amirat neighborhood in the center of the occupied canton of Afrin.

 The source added that the abductees were taken to an unknown destination, and their fate is still unknown, and the reasons that led to their abduction.

 As for Shera district, a source reported that Turkish intelligence and its mercenaries kidnapped on Thursday, February 24, the citizen, Muhammad Mamo Jumaa, in front of his house in the village of Alkah, in the district, and took him to an unknown destination.

 According to a source, the “Al-Sham Legion” mercenaries kidnapped the citizen, Shaker Sheikho, 36, from the village of Jalma in the Janders district, for a ransom, while his fate is still unknown.

 On the other hand, since its occupation on March 18, 2018, the canton of Afrin has witnessed the largest environmental sabotage, due to the brutal and indiscriminate cutting of trees by the mercenaries of the Turkish occupation at times, and their burning at other times.

 In the village of Deir Sawan, in Shera district, a source indicated that the mercenaries of “Sultan Murad” cut down olive and forestry trees with the aim of woodcutting and trafficking them.

 The source added that the mercenaries, led by the so-called Abu Mahmoud Al-Safani, cut down more than 650 forest trees and olive trees in the vicinity of Deir Sawan village in Shara district.

 In the same context, according to a source, “Ahrar al-Sharqiya” mercenaries and settlers cut down 95 trees from the fields of the people of Afrin canton on the road to Qjimo village in Janders district in the occupied canton of Afrin.

 The source added that the mercenaries of “Ahrar al-Sharqiya” and settlers from the airport camp in Janders district, cut down 55 trees owned by Azad Ali and 40 trees by Rashid Abdo from the village of Qirba in the district.
