fter years of stopping due to lack of equipment and damage in earlier times, when the militants of the Islamic State (ISIS) entered the outskirts of the city years ago, the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANEs) opened the spinning and weaving factory in the city of Hasakah, northeast Syria, on Sunday after rehabilitating it.
\nThe opening ceremony of the factory was attended by number of the officials of the Autonomous Admiration.
\nThe production capacity of the factory reaches about 6 tons per day if it is operated 24 hours a day with three daily shifts and it will provide job opportunities for about 520 residents of the city.
\nThe rehabilitation of the spinning and weaving factory in the city of Hasakah is an important achievement for the Autonomous Administration, given that it covers the needs of the industrial zone in terms of basic materials, said Salman Barudo, co-chair of the Economy Board in the opening ceremony.
\nHe pointed out that the factory will motivate farmers to continue to grow cotton, which is considered one of the strategic crops and a mainstay to support the local economy. The region will dispense with importing textile materials from abroad at high prices and in hard currency.
\n\u201cFor about six months, this factory has been renovated and equipped, in addition to securing technical pieces and securing specialized staff,\u201d Abdullah Khalaf, the administrative official of the spinning and weaving factory, said.
\n\u201cAbout 130 workers are now working, with a plan to employ about 520 workers in total, and the factory will produce about six tons of ginned cotton through three 8-hour shifts,\u201d Khalaf added.
\n\u201cThe Economy Board has secured about 1,500 tons of ginned cotton that are ready to be processed,\u201d he added.
\nHe pointed out that \u201cthere are several stages of spinning and weaving, and all underwear will be manufactured within the factory.\u201d<\/p>\n
