The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) Commander in Chief Mazloum Abdi said that Turkish drone attacks have increased in northeast Syria, aiming at destabilizing security.<\/p>\n

\u201cDrones\u2019 attacks have increased and started to target NE Syria\u2019s community and its institutions working on the region\u2019s stability,\u201d Abdi\u00a0tweeted<\/a>\u00a0on his official account.<\/p>\n

Abdi\u2019s tweet came, commenting on targeting of four members of the Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria (Asayish) in a Turkish drone attack on Thursday morning in the town of Ain Issa north of Raqqa, north Syria.<\/p>\n

The Asayish announced on Thursday that a Turkish drone targeted the Asayish in the town of Ain Issa, claiming the lives of\u00a0four<\/a>\u00a0members.<\/p>\n

\u201cA Turkish drone targeted this morning a vehicle of Internal Security Forces (ISF) in Ain Issa town, north of Raqqa, while driving to Tel Abyad IDP Camp. 4 members martyred,\u201d Abdi added.<\/p>\n

He went further saying, \u201cISF deals with protecting cities\u2019 security, civil institutions, IDP camps, and ISIS detention centers.\u201d<\/p>\n

The SDF Commander in Chief stressed that targeting the aforementioned facilities \u201cthreatens area\u2019s security directly.\u201d<\/p>\n

He also disclosed that since July 20, the death toll of Turkish drone attacks has mounted to \u201c9 SDF fighters, 4 ISF members, and 13 civilians.\u201d<\/p>\n

After extending condolences to martyrs\u2019 families, Abdi stressed, \u201cWe will keep protecting our land and people.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lately, Turkey has escalated its attacks on areas in north and northeast Syria, using artillery and drones following Tehran Summit, in which Turkey failed to obtain a green light by Iran and Russia to invade the region.<\/p>\n

Turkey\u2019s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has recently announced plans to carry out another major military cross-border incursion into northern Syria. Erdogan specified his targets in the two northern Syrian cities of Manbij and Tel Rifaat.<\/p>\n

On July 1, Erdogan said that Ankara\u2019s new military operation in northern Syria could begin at any moment.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe time has come to clear these lands from the terrorist organizations,\u201d Erdogan threatened during Tehran Summit.<\/p>\n

Tehran Summit, on July 19, brought together presidents of each of Iran, Russia and Turkey with the Syrian issue and Turkish threats on the top of its agenda.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
