Turkish Shelling Cuts Power To Syria’s Hasakah Countryside

The Turkish artillery shelling on Monday evening on a village in the countryside of Tel Tamr, north of Hasakah, northeast Syria, led to power outage to the Town.

A source in the Tel Tamr Military Council told North Press that” the village of Umm al-Keif, north of Tel Tamr, was hit with volley of artillery shells by the Turkish forces.”

The shelling damaged the power lines near the village of Umm al-Keif, and the power transmission substation went out of service, Fahd Samaila, co-chair of the town’s electricity department, told North Press.

It should be mentioned that this is the second time that the Tel Tamr’s power transmission substation went out of service this month due to the Turkish shelling.

Areas near the contact lines in northeast Syria continue to witness ongoing violations of the ceasefire agreement which Turkey signed with the Russian and American guarantors in October 2019.
